According to witnesses, the man stepped inside a classic red phone box intending to call for a kebab delivery. But things quickly went wrong when he realized the booth didn’t even contain a phone.

To make matters worse, the heavy door slammed shut behind him and locked, leaving him trapped inside the narrow booth.

The man reportedly remained stuck inside the phone box for around an hour as friends and bystanders gathered outside.

Several people watched the strange scene unfold, with some filming the moment while others encouraged him as he attempted to kick his way out of the booth.

At one point, he managed to remove a glass panel from the lower half of the box. Footage shows him pushing his head and arms through the opening as he appeared to consider squeezing his body through the tight space.

However, escaping that way proved difficult.

Video from the incident shows firefighters working to force open the stubborn door while a crowd watched nearby.

After some effort, the crews managed to pry the door open, finally freeing the man from the booth.

Looking slightly embarrassed, he stepped out and even shook hands with the firefighters who had rescued him.

Witness Describes What Happened

One eyewitness explained how the whole incident unfolded.

“He went into the box to phone for a kebab,” the witness said.

“The door shut behind him and locked him in. Only BT engineers have keys.”

“He had no way of getting out. His mates were laughing but they couldn’t get him out. His friends tried for about an hour then had to phone the fire brigade.”

What started as a simple attempt to order late-night food quickly turned into a strange rescue operation — leaving both the trapped man and onlookers with a story they likely won’t forget anytime soon.
