“Crime Can Wait”: Cop Stops Mid-Arrest to Take Picture With Fitness YouTuber

A fitness influencer was left stunned after police officers paused in the middle of an arrest to ask him for a photo.

Matt Morsia — better known online as MattDoesFitness and to TV audiences as Legend from the BBC reboot of Gladiators — shared a video of the bizarre moment on social media. In the clip, uniformed officers appear to be carrying out official duties while detaining a man in handcuffs nearby.

Despite the serious situation unfolding just feet away, one of the officers stopped Morsia to grab a quick picture. The influencer, clearly surprised, still agreed to pose. In the background, a man wearing a bright orange jacket can be seen standing in handcuffs while another officer remains beside him.

The video ends with Morsia walking back to his family looking visibly baffled by what just happened.

He captioned the clip: “POV: you’re mid-arrest but need to get a quick pic with MattDoesFitness,” joking that “crime can wait.”

Morsia later said the situation felt “so awkward,” especially for the person being arrested, who had to stand there watching the selfie take place. His wife, Sarah Morsia, also reacted in disbelief, commenting: “Still can’t believe this actually happened.”

The clip quickly sparked debate online. Some viewers questioned whether the moment was staged, with a few suggesting it looked like a skit. Others were more concerned, arguing that stopping for a photo while on duty was unprofessional, with one commenter writing that “someone is getting sacked.”

Morsia is no stranger to public attention. A former medal-winning long and triple jumper and silver medal-winning powerlifter, he later built a massive following as a fitness influencer and YouTuber, racking up over 355 million views.

Alongside his online career, Morsia has become a fan favourite on Gladiators as the larger-than-life character Legend.

Whether real or not, the clip left plenty of people shaking their heads at the strange intersection of internet fame and real-life police work.
