When one Londoner needed a fresh trim before a trip to Barcelona, he didn’t go to his usual barber — he flew nearly 2,000 miles to Morocco instead. And shockingly, the entire trip still cost less than getting his haircut done at home.
Muscab Salad, 22, from West London, normally pays around £41 for his haircut and travel in the UK — £35 for the cut and £6 getting to and from the barber. Fed up with rising prices, he searched Skyscanner to see if going abroad would be cheaper. That’s when he spotted a flight to Marrakech for just £15.
“I’m loyal to my barber,” Muscab said, “but thought it was a good idea to go abroad. It’s kind of fun to get a haircut when you’re on holiday.”
A £39 Trip — Flights, Hostel, Taxi, and Haircut Included
Once he landed in Morocco on October 7, Muscab spent:
- £6 on a taxi
- £10 for a hostel
- And finally £8 for a haircut
His entire trip totalled £39, making it £2 cheaper than his usual London trim.

He admitted he was nervous about trying a new barber, especially with a language barrier, but he was pleased with the result — and the experience.
“It was just as good as back home,” he said. “I would recommend it. You get a free holiday.”
TikTok Reaction
Muscab filmed the whole adventure and posted it on TikTok, where the clip gathered more than 100,000 views. People were stunned at how affordable the trip turned out.
One viewer wrote:
“I get a really good haircut in Morocco for 50dh (£4). I thought I could fly there and it’d still be cheaper than London.”
Another said:
“The point isn’t just the haircut. It’s a holiday too.”
Others disagreed, saying he could find cheaper cuts in the UK or that he overpaid in Morocco.
But for Muscab, the fun — and the savings — made it worth every mile. After his trim, he flew on to Barcelona for just £12, completing what might be one of the most budget-friendly grooming trips ever.
