The winner of the World’s Strongest Woman competition has been stripped of her title after event organizers said they later discovered she was born biologically male.
American athlete Jammie Booker, 28, initially won the Women’s Open category at the Official Strongman Games World Championship held in Texas. However, just days after the event ended, organizers announced that Booker had been disqualified for not competing in the category that matched her biological sex at birth.

How the Issue Was Discovered
According to British strongwoman Andrea Thompson, who was later crowned champion, the situation came to light when explicit adult videos and images linked to Booker’s past began circulating online.
Thompson told media that online users traced Booker to an adult film performer known as “Jammie Jay.” A profile on the Internet Adult Film Database (IAFD) reportedly listed the performer as a trans woman and included explicit film listings and nominations for the Trans Erotica Awards in 2020 and 2022.

Thompson said none of the competitors were aware of Booker’s background before the controversy surfaced.
“It was coming from an adult entertainment website — very explicit pictures and videos… which then obviously put her gender into question,” Thompson said.
Organizers’ Response
The Official Strongman Games organizers released a statement saying they were unaware of Booker’s background before the competition.
They stated that:
- They attempted to contact Booker
- She was given time to respond
- No response was received within the given period
As a result, they decided to formally strip her of the title.
Their statement said:
- The competition is inclusive
- But athletes must compete based on the biological sex recorded at birth
“Had we been aware, this athlete would not have been permitted to compete in the Women’s Open category,” organizers said.
Organizers also noted that the claim that Booker was born male has not been independently proven, and no evidence has been publicly submitted to confirm it.
Other Athletes Affected
The decision changed the rankings entirely.
- Andrea Thompson (UK) was officially promoted to World’s Strongest Woman
- Allira-Joy Cowley (Australia) was upgraded from third place to second
- Other athletes also moved up the rankings
Cowley celebrated the achievement but noted she hadn’t expected to be on the podium.
“Pretend it’s silver,” she joked online while sharing photos of her trophy.
Fallout and Reaction
Thompson said the situation has been emotionally exhausting.
She explained that:
- The investigation overshadowed her win
- Some athletes have been targeted and insulted online
- The moment she worked hard for has been dampened by controversy
Booker has not publicly responded to the claims or the decision so far.
