Teen in ‘Locked Up’ Costume Ends Halloween Night in Real Jail After DUI Arrest

In an ironic Halloween twist, an 18-year-old from Florida who dressed as a prison inmate for the spooky holiday ended up actually living the part after being arrested for driving under the influence.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD), officers pulled over Jimmie Glover early on October 31 after spotting suspicious driving behavior. When he stepped out of his vehicle, officers couldn’t help but notice his outfit — bright orange jumpsuit pants and a white tank top, resembling a typical inmate uniform.

Bodycam footage released by police showed Glover attempting a field sobriety test in a parking lot, walking along a white line before stumbling on the turn. He was then taken into custody and charged with DUI and refusal to submit to testing, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

Adding humor to the strange situation, the police department shared a lighthearted post on Facebook, writing:

“Locked Up, inmate Halloween costume was already dressed for arrest! We’d rather get dispatched because your Halloween decorations are that good… not for DUIs. Celebrate responsibly!”

They even joked that anyone dressed as a cop for Halloween could “pull a shift” with them — though they made sure to clarify it was just a joke.

Glover was booked into jail and released about 10 hours later after posting a $1,500 bond, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police reminded the public that Halloween is about creativity and fun — but safety always comes first. As they put it, it’s much better to get attention for great costumes than for reckless driving.
