A 28-year-old California man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after breaking into a woman’s home and assaulting her while she was asleep, according to prosecutors.
The accused, Christian Solorio, was found guilty of felony stalking and burglary with intent to commit a sex-related offense. He received the maximum sentence of six years and eight months in state prison.
Authorities said Solorio first encountered the victim at her workplace in February 2025 and quickly became fixated on her.
According to prosecutors, he repeatedly showed up at her workplace multiple times a day and waited outside to approach her when she left. He also asked her out several times and even sent her a letter expressing his desire to take her to Mexico.

The harassment continued for several weeks, despite the victim’s efforts to avoid him.
The situation escalated in May when Solorio tracked down where the woman lived.
Prosecutors said he waited until her father left the house before breaking in late at night. He then entered her bedroom while she was asleep.
The woman later woke up to find him assaulting her by sucking on her toes and attempting to get into her bed.
Despite being frightened, she remained calm and spoke to him in a way that helped de-escalate the situation until other family members entered the room and demanded he leave. Solorio then fled the scene.
Authorities later identified and arrested Solorio, who admitted to breaking into the home.
He ultimately pleaded no contest to the charges and was handed the maximum sentence allowed under California law.
Prosecutors praised the victim for her bravery, noting that she had tried to avoid Solorio before the incident and handled the situation calmly during the attack.
In addition to this case, Solorio is also facing separate federal charges related to drug trafficking.
