Hotel staff in China were left stunned after discovering the shocking condition of a room vacated by a long-term guest who reportedly spent two years inside playing video games.
The disturbing scene was uncovered only after the man finally checked out of a hotel in Changchun that specializes in accommodating gamers and esports competitors. Staff members say they were confronted with mountains of trash, used toilet paper, and food containers piled nearly three feet deep in some areas of the room.

According to reports, the guest had rarely been seen during his stay, with some hotel employees claiming they didn’t even know what he looked like. Cleaning staff were never allowed into the room during the two-year period.
When workers finally entered, they found thousands of empty food wrappers, takeaway boxes, and drink bottles covering almost every surface. A table and two gaming chairs were nearly buried beneath the waste, while the bathroom was reportedly in even worse condition.
Used toilet paper was piled higher than the toilet itself, the sink was covered in discarded items, and a thick brown layer of grime had built up across the floor.

Hotel management said it took cleaning crews three full days to remove the trash and disinfect the room. Even after the extensive cleanup, visible damage remained, and further renovation work is required before the room can be rented again.
The hotel caters specifically to esports players, offering private rooms equipped with high-end gaming computers, fast internet connections, and gaming chairs designed for extended use.
The guest is believed to be a hardcore gamer and reportedly still owes more than 10 days’ worth of unpaid accommodation fees, amounting to roughly £300 to $400. Despite the damage and unpaid balance, hotel management has not reported the incident to police and said they do not currently plan to pursue the matter further.
Staff reportedly described the man as a “guest from hell,” with the extreme conditions of the room sparking widespread reactions online after footage and images surfaced.
