Man Walks Into Hospital With Machete Stuck in His Head While Calmly Using His Phone

A man in India stunned hospital staff and social media users alike after he reportedly walked into a hospital with a machete lodged in his head — while calmly scrolling through his phone.

The shocking incident involved 27-year-old Rohit Pawar from Mumbai, who survived the horrifying injury after allegedly being attacked by three teenagers near a fried chicken shop in the Mankhurd area on May 2.

According to reports, the attack happened following a previous dispute. One of the suspects allegedly struck Pawar on the left side of his head with a machete, while the other two punched and kicked him during the assault.

Despite the severe injury, Pawar reportedly remained conscious and was rushed to Mumbai’s Sion Hospital by a friend on a motorcycle.

Viral footage shows man casually walking through hospital

Videos shared online showed Pawar walking through the hospital with the curved blade still embedded in his skull, while using his phone as shocked staff and bystanders looked on.

Doctors later revealed that the machete had penetrated more than three centimeters through the skin, skull, muscle and brain membrane. Remarkably, however, it missed all critical areas of the brain.

Dr. Batuk Diyora, head of neurosurgery at the hospital, reportedly described Pawar’s survival as “miraculous,” explaining that his speech and motor functions remained completely normal despite the injury.

Pawar later underwent surgery to remove the weapon and is now said to be out of danger.

The incident quickly went viral online due to the surreal footage and the shocking nature of the injury. Pawar’s family also reportedly criticized the hospital, claiming he had to wait too long before receiving treatment.

Police have since arrested all three suspects involved in the attack.
